Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP partner Brian Panish has been named among 2020’s Top 100 Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal. The annual publication profiles 100 attorneys throughout the Golden State who are doing cutting-edge legal work on behalf of their clients.
The feature article on Mr. Panish highlights his leadership roles in various cases throughout the state including the Woolsey Fire Litigation, Southern California Fire Cases Litigation, North Bay Fires Litigation and the Aliso Canyon / Porter Ranch Gas Leak.
“The No. 1 case for now until it’s over is the Aliso Canyon / Porter Ranch blowout case against Sempra’s SoCalGas,” Panish tells the publication. The case was set to begin trial in June 2020 but was delayed due to court closures and discovery issues. SoCalGas was sanctioned $525,610 for failing to properly release more than 100,000 documents.
“The court is going to get to trial. We just have to figure out how to do it in light of the environment we’re in,” Panish said, adding that 35,707 people “have been waiting for justice for over five years, trying to get their day in court.”
