Panish Shea & Boyle LLP attorney Deborah S. Chang has been named to the Daily Journal‘s list of Top Women Lawyers in California for 2016. The coveted West Coast ranking recognizes women lawyers who have made a difference to their clients, their firms, and their profession.
In the article addressing Chang’s accomplishments, the Daily Journal highlights two recent multi-million dollar verdicts that she helped to obtain. In Rabb v. State of California, an Imperial County jury awarded $9,928,387.87 to a man who suffered a below the knee amputation after he was struck by a vehicle driven by a State of California employee. In Casillas v. Landstar Ranger, Inc., Chang was part of the trial team that was awarded a significant $34.5 million victory for a teenager who was hit off his bicycle by a tractor-trailer in downtown Los Angeles, resulting in a below-the-knee amputation of his left leg and numerous surgeries.
In addition to the verdicts discussed in the Daily Journal article, Chang was also an integral part of the trial teams in many other recent trials where Panish Shea & Boyle LLP obtained large verdicts, including Jun v. Chaffey Joint Union High School District ($20,500,000), Sheaffer v. NuCO2 ( $17,393,479), Villamariona v. CBS Studios ($10,450,000 ), and Rennie v. Federal Express ($7,500,000).
“Debbie is one of the finest trial lawyers, man or woman,” said Brian Panish.
