Brian Panish To Be Honored As Outstanding Litigator By Southwestern Law School

Panish Shea & Boyle LLP partner Brian Panish will be honored by his alma mater next week as the first recipient of the Outstanding Litigator award at Southwestern Law School’s 27th Annual Alumni Awards Gala & Reunion. The award is presented to an alumus who has demonstrated skill, accomplishment, or a significant impact in his area of practice and the legal community and embodies the law school’s highest ethical standards and traditions.

Nationally recognized for his trial expertise, Mr. Panish has obtained more jury verdicts in excess of $10 million in personal injury and wrongful death cases than any other lawyer in California. He received his law degree, with honors, from Southwestern Law School in 1984 and an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Southwestern in 2011. Mr. Panish has remained an active alumnus serving as both a guest speaker and as chair of the Judges Tribute Dinner Committee, as well as hiring Southwestern graduates.  In 2013, Mr. Panish provided a gift of over $1 million to Southwestern to establish the Panish Chair in Civil Justice and the Panish Program in Civil Justice.

In addition to Mr. Panish, six members of the Southwestern community will also be honored including Bill Seki ’88 and Joseph Esposito ‘89 as Outstanding Alumni, Honorable Craig Mitchell ’91 as Outstanding Judicial Officer, Honorable Gary Geuss ’86 as Outstanding Public Interest/Government Official, Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith as Outstanding Law Firm, Honorable Terry J. Hatter, Jr. as Outstanding Friend and Nicole Abboud ’11 as Outstanding Nickel Alumnus.

The Alumni Awards Gala & Reunion will be held at the Los Angeles Athletic Club on Thursday, March 10 from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Reservations are required. For tickets and more information, visit
