$4.9 Million Settlement Obtained in Wrongful Death Bus Accident Case

Panish Shea & Boyle LLP attorneys Brian Panish, Adam Shea and David Rudorfer, and co-counsel Doug Linde of the The Linde Law Firm, secured a $4,900,000 settlement for a young woman whose 50-year-old father was struck and killed by a MTA bus.

On the night of February 4, 2013, Gholamreza Ashouri and his 81-year-old friend were crossing Santa Monica Boulevard in a marked pedestrian crosswalk when they were struck by a bus after crossing over the median in the street.  Both men died from their injuries.  Although the bus driver initially claimed that the men “darted out” into the street, that was quickly discredited by the MTA bus video.
