Carcinogenic Drug Risk Prompts Recall Of Reduce Weight Fruta Planta

Posted on February 14, 2014

The potential presence of Phenolphthalein has prompted the recall of a product called Reduce Weight Fruta Planta by the Florida-based MyNicKnaxs.  This ingredient, which is not related by the label, is considered a carcinogen and the marketing of it is thus not allowed within the United States.  The substance used to be readily available in laxatives, but the hazards it could create led officials to take it off the market.  Persons who use the weight loss product are in danger of facing heart or gastrointestinal issues as well as cancer if they’re exposed to the aforementioned ingredient for a lengthy period of time.  The products should therefore not be used.
