Infused Rice Recalled By Mars Over Foodborne Illness Concerns

Posted on February 11, 2014

Various flavors of Infused Rice products under the Uncle Ben’s brand are being recalled by Mars Foodservices because they have the potential to make the persons who consume the products ill.  Reports have already come in to the Food and Drug Administration and Mars relating instances where rash and flushing happened to those who made contact with the rice.  These items, which were available in five and 25 pound portions at the wholesale level, should not be consumed.  Instead, affected owners are being advised to get in touch with Mars to get their money back or receive a new item.  The recall affects Roasted Chicken, Mexican, Cheese, Spanish, Pilaf, Garlic & Butter, and Saffron flavors of rice.
