The possible presence of particulate matter has prompted the recall of three lots of Clinimix and Clinimix E Injections by Baxter International. The recall affects Lot 2B7709, 2B7717, and 2B7729, which were available from May of 2012 to this past October. Consumers have reported finding particulates in these parenteral nutrition items. If an individual gets injected with a solution containing such matter, their blood vessels could be blocked. Subsequent inflammation could then occur, as could irritation and such serious issues as a stroke, internal organ damage, or a heart attack. Owners are being asked by Baxter not to use these products, and to ensure safety, the items should be taken out of possible circulation.
