Kraft Skillets Product Recalled Over Possible Labeling Mixup

Posted on January 21, 2014

The Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac flavor of Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles is being recalled by the East Bernstadt, Kentucky-based Truitt Brothers because of the risk of an undeclared allergen.  The recall affects a total of 1.77 million pounds of product available in 3.3 pound cases carrying a Best By date ranging from March 2 to October 23.  Available across the country, these products could contain soy sauce and soy protein without the label outlining the availability of these ingredients, and persons allergic to those substances could thus sustain a serious reaction.  A label mixup is believed to have led to the problem, which has yet to lead to any reported illnesses.
