Faulty Fastec Locks Lead to Recall of 3,175 Monaco Trailers

Posted on January 3, 2014

A potential safety hazard associated with the door locks from Fastec available on the vehicles has led to the recall of 3,175 recreational trailers.  This particular recall was announced by Monaco RVs and affects vehicles from model years ranging between 2008 and 2013.  When the key is pulled away from the lock, said lock can become jammed in a manner that prevents a person inside the trailer from being able to extricate themselves using the door.  Although the emergency exit is still a possibility, the injury risk is nevertheless going to be exacerbated by the situation.  Monaco plans to get in contact with owners once the recall starts next month, and owners can then seek out inspections and necessary repairs from dealers at no cost.
