Lee’s Sandwiches Sausage Recalled By San Jose Company

Posted on December 31, 2013

Two different sausage products have been recalled by a San Jose, California company because of concerns about the possible contamination of the products by Staphylococcus aureus.  The recall, which was announced by Lee Bros. Foodservice, affects Pork Sausages and Pork and Chicken Sausages under the Lee’s Sandwiches brand.  The packaging is 16 ounces in size and the products were produced on February 11 and 12.  740 pounds of product made available in California and four other states are impacted by the recall, which was necessitated when an inspection revealed a safety issue with the water levels that could lead to the formation of the aforementioned enterotoxin.  Thankfully, no one has reported getting sick in connection with these items.
