Fall Hazard Leads to Recall of 1,500 Joovy Car Seat Adapters

Posted on December 31, 2013

A series of car seat adapters are being recalled by Joovy because of concerns that children could fall out of the units.  The recall pertains to an estimated 1,500 Zoom stroller adapters that allow the parent to tuck the car seat into a stroller.  Unfortunately, the clips that allow for attachment are in danger of coming loose, the type of situation that could lead the child to then fall out.  Nine loose adapter incidents have already been reported, but thankfully, none of those led a child to sustain an injury.  The product should not be used until such time that parents can get ahold of Joovy to obtain a repair kit.  The products were sold across the country from May 2012 to this past August.
