2,564 Sterling Bullet Trucks Recalled Over Possible Crash Risk

Posted on December 30, 2013

Sterling Bullet trucks of the 2008 and 2009 model years have been recalled by Daimler Trucks North America because of an issue that could pose a possible crash risk.  The recall was issued due to a worry that a fracture of the left outer tie rod ball stud is a possibility.  2,564 vehicles could be affected by this issue, which can lead the assembly of the tie rod to fail outright.  When that occurs, a driver may be unable to properly steer the truck, and this would obviously increase the potential for a crash.  The recall should start by January 24, when owners will begin to hear from Daimler about the safety issue.  Those persons can then get new components from dealers at no cost.
