Dried Dates Recalled By Blooming Import Over Sulfite Presence

Posted on December 16, 2013

Dried Dates are being recalled by the Brooklyn, New York-based Blooming Import because of the possible presence of sulfites not being outlined by the labels on the items.  The recall affects those Dried Ziziphus Jujuba Mill products under the Golden Lion brand imported from China and that were available across the country.  The sulfite presence is particularly hazardous to those persons who suffer from asthma, as it’s assumed that more than ten milligrams of the substance could prompt a dangerous reaction in that demographic.  Thankfully, no such incidents have taken place up until now, and so that might continue, owners are being asked to bring the dates back to wherever they got them from, where a refund will be handed out.
