11,250 Suspension Forks Recalled By California Company Over Fall Risk

Posted on December 19, 2013

Suspension forks for mountain bikes are being recalled by a company based in California because of a possible fall threat the items could pose.  The recall was issued by the Watsonville-based Fox Factory and pertains to 34 and 32 Evolution Series suspension forks of the 2013 model year that will have the FOX logo placed upon them.  11,250 forks are being recalled from across the country for an issue that involves separation of the damper cylinder/piston.  When this occurs, detachment of the front wheel is a possibility, which could obviously lead riders to suffer an injury.  One such situation reportedly took place in Italy, and owners are now being asked to set up repairs with the dealer they got the bike from.  The bikes were on sale between August of last year and this past October.
