Nearly 3,000 Ford Ambulances Recalled Because of Possible Crash Risk

Posted on November 21, 2013

F-350, 450, and 550 trucks of the 2011 and 2012 model years are being recalled by Ford.  Just shy of 3,000 vehicles are affected by the recall, and each would have come as part of an Ambulance Package.  There is reportedly a problem with the exhaust sensor that could trigger a power outage within the vehicle, followed shortly thereafter by the stalling of the 6.7L diesel engine.  Not only does this put the vehicle at risk for a crash, but if a patient is inside at the time, he or she could be subject to a potentially serious injury.  Owners should hear from Ford before the month is out.  Such persons can then obtain a free replacement of the affected sensor.
