Fall Risk Prompts California Company to Recall 7,000 ElliptiGO Cycles

Posted on November 22, 2013

Three models of ElliptiGO outdoor elliptical cycles are being recalled by the Solana Beach, California-based ElliptiGO because of a possible fall risk created by the products.  11R, 3C, and 8C models of these cycles have drive arm axles and front forks that are in danger of becoming dislodged from the bodies of the cycles.  Persons riding at the time could then fall off and sustain potential injuries.  One person has reported suffering minor injuries, and there have been 11 total reports of one of the aforementioned defects cropping up.  7,000 cycles that were available around the country are being recalled, and they would have been sold between April 2011 and last month.  A safety retrofit should be sought from the company, and the cycles shouldn’t be used until that time.
