344,187 Honda Odysseys Recalled Over Possible Crash Threat

Posted on November 4, 2013

Honda Odyssey automobiles of the 2007 and 2008 model years are being recalled by the American Honda Motor Company due to a potential crash hazard posed.  A whopping 344,187 vehicles could potentially be affected by this issue, which would see the sudden and unprompted activation of the brakes without the driver calling upon or being ready for such a thing.  This issue, which reportedly has its genesis in a software issue that triggers the Vehicle Safety Assist System, could cause the vehicle to suddenly halt.  Because the brake lights may not go on when this occurs, someone behind the automobile at that time could strike the conveyance.  The recall won’t start until this coming spring, but in the meantime, Honda plans to inform owners of what they can do to prevent an accident.
