Over 2,000 W62 and W42 Vehicles Recalled Over Crash Threat

Posted on November 27, 2013

Just over 2,000 W62 and W42 vehicles are being recalled by Navistar because of a potential safety issue associated with the hydraulic brakes.  In affected Workhorse Custom Chassis vehicles, there’s a chance that a lack of appropriate levels of brake fluid would not be identified by the vehicle.  Thus, persons driving the vehicle would not be alerted to the fact that they need to replace this fluid.  This could lead the vehicle itself to take longer to stop and contribute to a crash situation if the issue is not fixed promptly. Owners should have already started to receive a notification from Navistar.  The brake fluid level indicator will be replaced by dealers at no cost to owners.
