Ensuring Safety With Elder Home Care Services

Posted on November 18, 2013

For those who aren’t quite ready to give up their independence to live in a dedicated assisted living facility, there are some options out there, and safety must be verified just like it would for those who are looking into a nursing home.  A new report outlines some tips for those who are content to stay in their own homes with help from a home care service.  First, you must decide what services you need and what level of care the potential care service will provide.  Speak with a representative of the agency to determine what type of training their employees have been through and what kind of overall track record they have.  There should be policies in place to govern what said employees and agencies will do in the event of an emergency, and you should outline what’s expected of them (for example, partial care versus 24-hour service).
