GU, MRU, CXU, CHU, and LEU vehicles of the 2013 and 2014 model years are being recalled by Mack Trucks because of an issue with the pro-torque axle spindle nuts found on the units. 1,155 vehicles in total could be impacted by the recall, which was issued once it was discovered that improper installation of these nuts may have taken place, triggering a lack of tightness in the component. Were this to occur, separation of the hub assembly is a possibility, and the threat of a crash would grow. The recall began yesterday and thus notifications should have already started to go out, and owners should be on the lookout for those alerts. Free inspections and repairs can be obtained from dealers.
