FourTrax TRX500 Foreman ATVs Recalled By Honda Over Crash Risk

Posted on November 6, 2013

The Torrance, California-based American Honda Motor Company has announced the recall of two different models of FourTrax TRX500 Foreman ATVs due to a possible crash hazard posed to riders.  On FM and FE models of these vehicles of the 2012 and 2013 model years, there’s a possibility that breakage of the steering shaft could take place.  When this happens, the rider would potentially be unable to navigate, prompting a possible crash along with all attendant injuries.  Although no injuries have come to light, 18 incidents of breakage (two of which prompted a crash) have been reported.  Owners of the 21,000 affected ATVs are being asked to cease usage until free repairs can be obtained from a dealer.  The items were sold across the country between May 2011 and this past September.
