Las Vegas Officials Stress Need For Pedestrian Safety

Posted on October 4, 2013

A new report takes a look at the efforts of officials in the city of Las Vegas to put forth various safety initiatives timed to Pedestrian Safety Month in October.  The efforts hope to draw awareness to the importance of automobiles and drivers sharing the road.  One area in particular that the Mayor is calling for more of a focus on is in bus stop safety.  She recently noted the danger faced by persons on foot as they wait for the bus, and the city is attempting to bring bus stops further away from the curb to counteract this threat.  The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada has also launched a PSA contest that residents of the area are invited to take part in.
