Injury Risk Prompts Recall of 4,360 Horse and Cargo Trailers

Posted on September 18, 2013

Horse trailers and enclosed cargo trailers of the 2006 through 2010 model years are being recalled by Homesteader because of a possible injury risk.  4,360 trailers are potentially impacted by an issue wherein the deadbolt of the door lock can get jammed due to a certain way that a user takes the key out.  If someone is inside when this takes place, they could get stuck there, unable to exit from the main door.  They would need to use the emergency exit during such an incident, and the entire situation could contribute to an injury.  November will mark the month that the recall starts and owners start to hear from Homesteader.  An inspection and replacement of the affected components will be carried out by Fastec at no cost to owners.
