Chobani Yogurt Pulled Over Concerns About Swelling

Posted on September 4, 2013

Although the company has not gone so far as to call the move a recall, Chobani is making an effort to remove a series of Greek yogurt products from circulation.  The removal took place this past Friday after the company became concerned about about reports of swelling within the yogurt cups.  After initiating an investigation, the company came to the conclusion that mold is to blame.  A spokesperson for Kroger notes that the move did not suggest a safety threat posed by the yogurt, but nevertheless, people have taken to social media as of yesterday to voice their grievances with the yogurt.  Reports suggest that the yogurt tastes old or suffers from an unreasonable amount of fizz.  The products in question are set to expire between next Wednesday and October 7.
