Nevada Highway Patrol Seeks To Boost Commercial Vehicle Safety

Posted on September 17, 2013

California citizens headed to Las Vegas this week should be aware of a safety campaign and enforcement operation being carried out by the Nevada Highway Patrol.  That initiative will place a particular focus on those actions that could contribute to a crash involving a large commercial vehicle.  In addition to keeping track of the normal illegal behaviors like aggression and speeding violations, officials plan on cracking down on those commuters who place themselves and others at risk by cutting off or traveling too closely to tractor trailers.  On Interstate 15 and other highways, the NHP also plans to send out a big rig whose sides relate a message explaining the importance of giving plenty of room to commercial vehicles.
