Motorcyclists and automobile operators alike should make themselves aware of an upcoming enforcement effort being held this weekend in Santa Monica in a bid to boost motorcycle safety in the area. The operation will be carried out by the city’s police department this Saturday, with officers out in force in those parts of the city that tend to have heightened levels of motorcycle riders. There are certain activities that officers will be particularly on the lookout for, including drunk driving and such aggressive maneuvers as speeding and blowing past a stop sign. Ahead of the effort, the department is also asking that those behind the wheel of an automobile keep an eye out for motorcycles when switching lanes or making a turn.
