Whole Foods Crostatas Recalled Over Undeclared Allergen Risk

Posted on August 16, 2013

The threat of an undeclared allergen has prompted the recall of blueberry and sour cherry crostatas by Whole Foods.  The recall reportedly only pertains to those versions of the product that were available for sale in the Reno and Northern California areas.  The recall affects those products that have a sell by date before August 14.  At issue is the fact that the items may have used egg wash as an ingredient without the label stipulating the presence of this substance.  Those who are allergic to eggs should bring the products back to Whole Foods.  One persons has at this time reported that they suffered an allergic reaction.
