Protect Your Pets From Overlooked Summer Hazards

Posted on August 13, 2013

A new report from CNN takes a look at some of the oft overlooked summer hazards that could end up compromising the safety of pets.  The report starts off by explaining that the pavement can be especially dangerous to a dog’s paws, as they simply don’t have foot protection in the form of shoes like we do.  Similarly, the hot bed of a truck can also lead to burns.  Dogs can also get sunburns, especially if their fur is light in color or particularly short.  Pet owners also have to be on the lookout for ticks, fleas, and insects whose stings could lead to a dangerous allergic reaction.  It’s also important to take caution when storms descend on the area if your pets get skittish in such situations.
