Pasadena Anti-Distraction Crackdown Bears Fruit

Posted on August 21, 2013

This past Monday, police in the city of Pasadena increased patrolling efforts in a bid to catch distracted persons at the wheel.  Ostensibly carried out in order to ensure back to school safety, the operation found 15 motorcycle-based officers routed throughout the city.  Now, the department has said that their efforts resulted in over 100 people being handed a ticket due to some distracting act at the wheel.  While many citations went to those persons who were using their cellphones in some manner, that wasn’t exclusively the case.  People also received tickets for such things as driving with a pet on their lap and applying makeup while in transit.
