North Las Vegas Police Stress Pedestrian Safety

Posted on August 13, 2013

Given how much pedestrian traffic typically occurs in Las Vegas, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to hear that officers are attempting to crack down on those whose actions could compromise people on foot.  Officers in North Las Vegas were out in full force yesterday issuing tickets to automobile drivers, although the Metro Police note that four out of five accidents are actually the fault of the person on foot.  The department utilized officers in plain clothes to catch drivers failing to stop for those officers in the street.  Persons hit with a ticket could end up paying as much as $400.  The police encourage drivers and pedestrians alike to obey all traffic signals.
