Drunk Driving Enforcement Effort in California To Run Until Labor Day

Posted on August 16, 2013

Starting today and lasting up until Labor Day, officers with the California Highway Patrol and various local law enforcement entities will be conducting operations designed to root out intoxicated drivers.  Not only will patrol levels be increased, but various checkpoints will be set up in a bid to identify those persons who are drunk at the wheel.  Two years ago, Labor Day reportedly saw 138 fatalities associated with drunk driving in the Los Angeles County area alone, and this operation is designed to reduce those disappointing numbers.  That entire year saw 774 people killed in relation to intoxicated driving across California as a whole.
