CHP To Crack Down on Dangerous Drivers Along Interstate 10

Posted on August 30, 2013

Last month, Interstate 80 benefitted from increased patrols all across the country during an operation known as the I-80 Challenge.  On the heels of that event, a new operation known as the I-10 Challenge will be carried out over the long weekend.  The Florida State Highway Patrol put together the nationwide event.  In California, members of the California Highway Patrol in the San Bernardino and Riverside county areas will increase patrols along their applicable section of the interstate.  The hope is that the operation can help reduce fatalities in the state, one of which occurs along that stretch of California road an average of every four days.  The CHP has said it will focus on cracking down on drunk and distracted drivers as well as those who fail to wear seat belts or adhere to posted speed limits.
