2,900 Knife and Sheath Sets Recalled By Gerber Over Laceration Risk

Posted on August 6, 2013

A series of knives and sheathes are being recalled because of an inability of the sheathes to keep the knives held in place.  The recall, which was issued by the Portland, Oregon-based Gerber Legendary Blades, affects Uppercut Fixed Knife and Sheath Sets.  2,900 sets could suffer from the issue, which may lead the knives to fall out of their sheathes and injure the user or someone else in the vicinity.  One incident involving a laceration has already been reported, and to ensure no additional injuries occur, owners are being asked to cover the knives and place them somewhere that kids won’t be able to get to them.  A replacement item can be obtained from Gerber.
