Sterility Fears Prompt Recall of Drugs By Park Pharmacy

Posted on August 27, 2013

Two types of sterile products that were sold in California and three other states are being recalled by the Park Pharmacy & Compounding Center because said sterility cannot be assured.  The recall affects one lot of Multitrace-5 Concentrate in 10 milliliter amber vials and Methylcobalamin 5mg/ml in 30 ml amber vials.  The two lots, 05212013 and 06132013, respectively, were made available across the country in June and July.  A recent inspection carried out by the Food and Drug Administration revealed that sterility assessment procedures may not provide an accurate picture of the the products’ sterility.  Owners of the products are being asked to cease usage and to get in touch with a healthcare professional if they feel they have experienced adversity in relation with the products.
