Safety Violations Uncovered In Bus Operator’s Past

Posted on August 23, 2013

Yesterday, the city of Irwindale was the site of a bus crash that involved the vehicle overturning and 52 people aboard being injured.  Thankfully, those persons received only minor or moderate injuries, but it has now come to light that the company responsible for the operation of the bus has a series of safety violations in its past.  The three violations assessed against Da Zhen Bus involve two instances of speeding in Arizona and one report of being too close to another automobile in Nevada.  Those numbers come from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, whose records also note 25 maintenance-related safety issues involving such things as a lack of appropriate emergency exits and a brake hose not being properly secured.
