27,000 HALO SleepSack Blankets Recalled Over Possible Choking Risk

Posted on August 21, 2013

The Minnetonka, Minnesota-based Halo Innovations has announced the recall of cotton wearable blankets under the HALO SleepSack brand.  27,000 of these sack-shaped blankets for babies could suffer from an issue wherein the petals on the blanket’s pink satin flower could come dislodged from the blanket itself.  If the child gets ahold of these petals and puts them in their mouth, he or she would face a choking hazard.  One infant reportedly gagged on the pedal and five additional detachment incidents have been reported.  Customers are being asked not to place their babies inside the blanket; instead, HALO can be contacted.  The company will provide free instructions on flower removal.  These blankets were sold only at Babies R Us between December 2011 and this past July.
