CHP Enacts Patrol Efforts Around Riverside County Schools

Posted on August 15, 2013

As school got back into session yesterday in the Riverside County area, students and parents may have noticed an increased police presence.  That’s because the California Highway Patrol’s Temecula branch placed officers in the area in a bid to encourage parents and anyone traveling through school zones to exercise the appropriate precautions while on the roads.  Numerous schools in the vicinity benefitted from the safety effort.  A representative of the CHP also urged parents to take part in certain activities which can contribute to a safe commute.  Among those:  scanning the road for children and other persons on foot, only using designated areas to drop off children, and slowing down and always wearing a seatbelt.
