69,300 Gas Patio Bistro Grills Recalled By Char-Broil Over Burn Risk

Posted on August 15, 2013

A burn threat has led to the recall of two types of Gas Patio Bistro Grills by the Columbus, Georgia-based Char-Broil.  69,300 grills from around the country are affected in total, and each will be either the 180 Table Top model or the 240 Full Size model.  These round, black, propane grills each have one burner.  On the affected grills, an accidental ignition is a possibility, and if the user is not expecting it, they could be burned.  26 instances of ignition when the grill was set to OFF have already been reported, and four of those involved a user being burned while seven others led to burnt hair.  The grills, which were sold between September 2010 and this past June, should not be used.  A repair kit can be obtained from Char-Broil.
