San Marino Schools Said Not To Offer Adequate Earthquake Protection

A new report analyzes the ill-preparedness of many of the schools in San Marino when it comes to earthquakes.  California Watch produced the analysis, which found that three of the four public schools in that area are potentially privy to safety hazards were an earthquake to strike.  The biggest offender, Huntington Middle School, apparently has had eight projects in the past that failed to adhere to protection standards needed to safeguard children against seismic damage.  Further evaluations were deemed necessary in order to figure out problem areas that could stand to be fixed.  Carver Elementary reportedly suffered from a safety issue that was so severe that the building was deemed unsuitable for occupation.
