Hepatitis A Fears Prompt Townsend to Recall Organic Antioxidant Blend

Posted on July 1, 2013

The Fairview, Oregon-based Townsend Farms is recalling additional products due to continued worries about the possible presence of Hepatitis A.  This updated recall alert pertains to three pound bags of Organic Antioxidant Blend that have a Best By date code ranging from T122114 through T053115.  The Food and Drug Administration has been investigating reports of Hepatitis A throughout the country, and their efforts have led the agency to trace the offending contaminant to a group of pomegranate seeds imported from Turkey.  The product mentioned above may have contained those seeds, but thus far, testing reportedly has not revealed the presence of Hepatitis A in the blend.  Owners are being asked to bring the product back without consumption.
