Cellphone Ban Proponents Not Giving Up In Massachusetts

Lawmakers in Massachusetts are still pushing for a ban on cellphone usage at the wheel.  At the moment, texting while driving is illegal within the state and has been for nearly three years.  Although a previous measure that would have outlawed all handheld cell activities failed to make it out of the Transportation Committee, proponents aren’t giving up.  Other bills that would ban distraction in some manner are still being considered, including one that would prohibit a cellphone conversation in the midst of a school zone.  Supporters believe that the texting ban will always have its hands figuratively tied behind its back without an outright ban on cellphone usage.
