CHP Raising Awareness About Hot Car Dangers

Posted on

A new report out of Bakersfield relates the California Highway Patrol’s efforts in the month of August to raise awareness about the importance of never leaving a child alone in a hot car.  Ahead of the month’s designation as Purple Ribbon month, a representative of the CHP took to a local radio show to emphasize that all parents must look before they lock.  In most incidents, he explained that parents simply forget their children are with them.  With 23 hot car fatalities nationwide thus far, the threat is very much a reality, and parents should protect their kids from such a fate by placing something in the backseat they’ll have to reach for as a reminder that the child is in back.  Those who spot a child alone in a car should dial 911 at once.
