Fire Threat Leads to Recall of 107,000 Soleil Portable Fan Heaters

Posted on July 25, 2013

The Atlanta, Georgia-based Home Depot has announced the recall of 107,000 Soleil portable fan heaters only sold by Home Depot itself between last September and this past May all across the country.  These fans, which are 1500 watts and have LH-707 as their model number, can see melting of the plastic housing take place.  Once deformation occurs, a fire becomes another possibility, along with all attendant threats that poses.  464 melting incidents have been reported at this time, but those thankfully did not lead to any apparent property damage or injury.  The fan heaters should not be used but should instead be brought to a Home Depot by those looking to get their money back.
