CHP Uses RADIATES Operation to Crack Down on Aggressive Drivers
$100,000 has been provided to the Coastal Division of the California Highway Patrol in order to take part in an operation known as Reduce Aggressive Driving Incidents and Tactically Enforce Speed, or RADIATES. As a result, the San Luis Obispo area and other environs will see increased patrols keeping a close eye on drivers whose aggressive actions could lead to an injurious or even fatal wreck. The operation, which will last until the end of September, is designed to catch those maneuvers that most typically lead to crashes, such as tailgating, sudden un-signaled lane changes, and driving beyond the speed limit. Highways 101, 46, and 1 will see the brunt of the increased patrol effort.
