Gemma II Girls’ Boots Recalled By Renaissance Due to Exposed Staple

Posted on July 23, 2013

The Matthews, North Carolina-based Renaissance Imports has announced the recall of Gemma II girls’ boots under the Autumn Run brand.  5,000 pairs of boots ranging from size 5 to size 11 are potentially affected by the recall, which was issued because the boot’s sole could have an exposed staple.  This staple could cut the person wearing the shoe, something that has reportedly already happened to one individual.  The boots, which were only sold at Academy Sports + Outdoors from last July to last October, should not be worn by kids.  If the word INSPECTED is found on the inside label, the boots should be fine.  Otherwise, they need to be returned to Academy, at which point a refund will be given.
