1,659 LEV II-Rated Accords Recalled By Honda Due to Fire Threat

Posted on July 19, 2013

1,659 Low Emission Vehicle II-rated Accords of the 2013 model year have been recalled by the American Honda Motor Company due to a potential issue with the fuel tank neck.  This component may be lacking the proper specifications and thus could cause improper sealing between the fuel pump and the fuel tank.  This can cause fuel to emanate from the vehicle component, thus posing a fire threat in the event that an ignition source is in the vicinity.  At the start of August, the recall is going to take place, and owners will begin to hear from Honda at that point.  Affected components will be replaced by dealers at no cost to owners.
