Salmonella Worries Prompt Oxnard Company to Recall Organic Oregano

Posted on July 15, 2013

The Oxnard, California-based Olde Thompson has announced the recall of 2.2 ounce glass jars of Organic Oregano under the Earth’s Pride Organics brand.  Sold in 15 states between January and last week at various BJ’s Wholesale stores, the products are in danger of having incurred a Salmonella contamination.  Sampling of the items, which have a cork closure, revealed the illness danger, which could manifest in vomiting, diarrhea, and even more serious conditions in certain susceptible demographics.  No instances of a reported illness have come to the fore at this time, and to ensure that continues, owners are advised to toss out the product without further consumption.
