Grant Allows For The Training of Los Angeles-Area Cyclists

Posted on July 12, 2013

Thanks to a more than $200,000 grant, BikeSGV, the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, and Multicultural Communities for Mobility will be offering a series of bike safety classes for new riders and seasoned pros alike throughout the rest of the summer.  The LA County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is providing for the lessons, which will take part in both Spanish and English in a variety of areas around Los Angeles .  The MTA points out that the number of driver’s licenses being issued is decreasing in conjunction with a rise in the popularity of cycling in Los Angeles, and these types of classes are designed to ensure that those greater numbers of cyclists will be able to safely embark on their commute. The grant hails from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
