1,000 Hollis DG03 Dive Computers Recalled Due To Drowning Threat

Posted on July 11, 2013

A series of products from the San Leandro, California-based Pelagic Pressure Systems is being recalled.  The recall affects 1,000 or so DG03 Dive Computers under the Hollis brand.  Available across the country between July 2011 and this past May, the computers can relate the wrong tank pressure if hooked up to an integrated transmitter.  This could cause the user to unwittingly go through their air quicker than they would have expected, which could lead to drowning if the diver isn’t able to get topside quickly.  Two malfunctions without injury have been reported at this time, and owners are being advised to download a system update from the web to fix the issue.
