Injury Risk Prompts Hyundai to Recall 5,200 Azera Vehicles
The Hyundai Motor Company has announced the recall of Azera vehicles of the 2012 and 2013 model years. Around 5,200 vehicles are encompassed within the scope of the recall, which was issued upon discovery that the occupant detection system could potentially not discern what type of passenger is riding shotgun. Thus, the force of the airbag in the event of a crash could be too much for a child, or too little for a grown adult. This creates a greater risk of injury during a crash. There’s no indication at this time when the recall is going to start, but once it does, owners will hear from Honda and be able to bring their automobiles in to a dealer for a recalibration service.
